About Me
I am a researcher and educator currently located in Boulder, Colorado where I am completing my PhD in linguistics and cognitive science. I examine the mechanisms of language production and its relationship with cognition. I teach in both linguistics and psychology. I am both a linguist and a psychologist by training and at heart.
I was born and raised in the Bay Area, California, a daughter to Filipino immigrants and a heritage speaker of my parents' first language, Tagalog. In addition to my cultural and linguistic experiences, my first major foray into linguistics came through my Sanskrit training. In addition to nerding out about language, I enjoy reading fiction, hiking, dancing, figure skating, and cooking.
